The ups and downs of the Spiritual Path

At some point in our spiritual development we realize that our spiritual path is the only path there is, and that everything else in our lives is directly tied to our spiritual growth. Once we have that realization and we make our spirituality a priority, we open ourselves up to higher spiritual guidance and higher spiritual lessons.

Many people make the mistake of assuming that once we are on a declared spiritual path that everything else in our lives should become easier. In general, becoming aware of the great significance of our spiritual development sets up the stage for a series of tests that help us move forward. Sometimes we find ourselves in the testing part of this cycle, where everything else becomes harder and we must push forward to pass the test, other times we find ourselves in the up side of this cycle, where we have successfully passed a test and find ourselves in a higher level than we were before.

The important lesson here is that just because things are difficult it does not mean that you are regressing in your spiritual growth, it only means that there is a test to pass. As you go through harder times realize that only through correction and change can you move forward. Make a clear intention and declare: “I WILL pass this test”
